I (Heart) a Stoller

I found it. Seriously. It’s got to be the best stroller ever. It’s the new City Select from Baby Jogger, and I think it fits ALL of my stroller wish list. Okay, you can’t jog with it. You can “walk briskly on paved pathways.” But who wants to jog pushing 85 pounds of stroller and kids? So really, it’s perfect.

What is so great about this stroller, you may ask? Oh, let me count the ways…

  • The easiest fold on the market – the patented Baby Jogger fold
  • Hand operated brake
  • Locking or swiveling front wheels
  • Giant basket
  • Telescoping handlebar
  • Enormous sun shade
  • One piece one hand four position reclining seat
  • Adjustable height foot rest and sun shade
  • Never flat tires
  • Removable child snack trays
  • Each seat holds 45 pounds… but the stroller is only 26

The list goes on. But wait, there’s more. There are about 20 different configurations you can do with this stroller, because (click, click), it becomes a tandem double. Just like that. Two car seats, two toddler seats, one of each… then face them whichever way you like. No kidding! If you want more, there’s a great review on YouTube by Baby Gizmo. It’s nine minutes long. I’ve watched it three times.

So it’s perfect for one baby and one toddler, which is what I’ll have in, oh, six months. And considering we use our stroller about 3-4 times a week currently, I’m thinking I’m going to need a double.

And it arrived in some stores this week, which is very exciting because it is so new that it is hard to find. I got a call on Tuesday from Chris at Merry Go Round, letting me know that they had one floor model and three in stock. (Because of course, I got on a calling list.)

On Wednesday, we went and visited the stroller. There were two other families there at the same time we were. One woman said to me, “Have you been stalking this stroller online too?” πŸ™‚ We had JT with us, and another family had a baby, so we put them both in the stroller and tested it out. It was so funny to have all of us standing around oooohing and ahhhing over this stroller!

Everyone tried folding it (yep, shockingly easy). It even folds with both toddler seats on! And it is so smooth to manuever around. I love, love, love that it can be a single or a double so quickly and easily. When we left, the employee said, “Well, was it everything you thought it would be?” And I laughed and said, “Yes!” And it really was. I guess I have to start saving my pennies…
