Running Partners

The other day JT said he would like to ride his bike on the trail while I ran. So we loaded up the stroller and the bike and got ready for a short run. JT had a goal to make it to a certain point on the trail… 1.5 miles out.

Two miles in, he was tired. Very, very tired. I said, “You’ve got to use the strong muscles God gave you, JT!” And he said, “I don’t have much muscles left, Mom.” But he kept going. And then there were tears. I finally had to pull out the big guns and quote my mother. “You can cry and pedal back, or you can just pedal back.” He said, “I will just pedal back,” and made it the last mile back to the car, with some smiles before we ended. I was so proud of him!

When we got back to the car, Haley said she was pretty tired from the long ride in the stroller. Ha!
