Thankful

We spent a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend enjoying some family time, starting with our neighborhood Turkey Trot. This year, a neighbor kid had a coffee and hot chocolate stand set up, so we were all treated to hot drinks after our run. Both our kids did a great job finishing a full mile in the pouring down rain.

Then we had a nice extended family dinner at the Coles’ house. On Friday, we hosted a small group for watching Apple Cup. And we were happy with the results. After the game, Jim went to work and the kids and I put up the big Christmas tree.

On Saturday, we hosted a very similar looking group for Iron Bowl. And we were happy with the results. After the game, Jim went to work and the kids and I put up the small Christmas tree.

On Sunday, we had a Friendsgiving dinner with two neighbor families, the Lees and the Drews. We had 15 people for appetizers at the first house, the main course at our house, and dessert at the last house. It was so much fun!

Jim put our Christmas lights on the house the day before Thanksgiving, and this year we have them all on remote, so I can turn on the lights, big tree, and porch décor with a single click. It is very fun! We feel ready to start the holiday season and love our cozy house to enjoy it in.
