San Diego Trip

I have been traveling to San Diego to train the AVID Center staff on digital tools for a full year now. I fly down every couple of months, spend the night, train all day, and fly home. It’s been great to get to know their teams and programs a little at a time (I’ve now trained all 242 of their staff members!).

This April, I had the opportunity to double up on two days of training after Easter weekend, and it’s my last trip of the year, so Jim and I decided to make it a family event. We flew down Saturday morning and were able to spend three full days together in the sunshine before I started work on Tuesday. Jim and the kids continued enjoying San Diego while I worked and then flew home Wednesday evening. After a change in plans last month, I ended up staying for two more days and flew home Friday night.

The highlight of our trip (besides the sunshine and warm weather) was getting to meet our niece Madi at LEGOLAND. I’m not shouting; that’s how it’s spelled. She drove down from Santa Clarita and met us at the Carlsbad Costco to surprise the kids before we went in to the theme park together. They were so excited to see her, and we loved getting 12 straight hours with her!

We also enjoyed visiting the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, the USS Midway, and Coronado Island.

These are just a few of my favorite pictures from the trip. For a full photo album, view our Sway below. Expand the window for full screen or swipe through the photos within the blog.
