Last week, Jim and Haley had their next Daddy-Daughter date to watch UW women’s sports. This time is was basketball, and of course they had a great time. Martial Arts Continues
JT is having a great time at martial arts. He is learning lots of different moves, increasing coordination, and burning off energy. All good things. He likes his instructor and is looking forward to testing for the next level in May. Haley is a good watcher. 🙂 Â
Surprise!
I got Jim a surprise Christmas gift (aren’t most gifts surprises?). This one was a BIG surprise. Only a few people knew about it ahead of time. Thanks to Christian for helping pick it out and arrange for the purchase, and for Wendy for storing it for me until Christmas… and dropping it off ChristmasContinue reading “Surprise!”
Basketball Begins
Basketball started this week! We were so excited to have a large cheering section for JT’s first game, including all four grandparents, an uncle, a cousin, and a sister! The Upward league is serious stuff. The kids and coaches run out through a tunnel at the beginning of the game, and there are cheerleaders. TheContinue reading “Basketball Begins”

Christmas at Home
We have a tradition that we stay home, just us, on Christmas Eve and morning. Well, we go to church, but other than that we stay home. And I love Christmas Eve service, so that’s a highlight. Getting ready to leave for church  When we got home from church, we had a fabulous dinnerContinue reading “Christmas at Home”
Christmas Eve
Christmas Eve. My favorite church service of the year! We dress up, take photos, feel merry, and celebrate the arrival of our Savior. I recently thought about how devastating that must have been for Jesus, to leave the perfection of heaven that he had enjoyed for all of eternity to dwell in an imperfect worldContinue reading “Christmas Eve”
Pre-Christmas
We have started a new tradition with my family in which we gather the weekend before Christmas for decorating cookies, opening gifts, and enjoying good food together. We started the evening singing Christmas carols with Preston on guitar. We played some Rummy before dinner as well. After dinner, we settled in for cookie making. OfContinue reading “Pre-Christmas”
