One bright Sunday morning, the kids and I decided to take advantage of the end of the beautiful weather and go for a hike with Maverick. We also decided to invite our friends the Drews, and it ended up being so much fun. We all drove to the trailhead in my car, and hiked theContinue reading “Gold Mountain Hike”

Happy New Year 2020
We spent New Year’s Eve doing a few fun things we love… first, we took the kids to see Rise of Skywalker with the Drew family (well, three of the six children in the Drew family, and their parents). Then we headed home to get some things done, and ended up at the Drew houseContinue reading “Happy New Year 2020”
Candy Canes
We invited the Drew kids (three of them, at least) over to make candy canes with us last weekend. We read the recipe, talked about the steps, and completed them together. Then we started grabbing slightly cooled gooey boiled sugar and rubbing it in our butter-coated hands! Sometimes it was very hot. In the end,Continue reading “Candy Canes”
Friendsgiving 2019
What a lovely tradition we’ve made with some of our favorite people! Every year we host a progressive dinner style Friendsgiving with our friends from the Drew family and the Lee family. This year, we had an Italian theme! We barely fit in the photo this year… and there’s one more kid to come! We’veContinue reading “Friendsgiving 2019”
Friends Celebration
Haley planned a back-to-school-end-of-summer-celebration party for JT and two friends. It was so sweet to watch her plan a menu, purchase everything, make decorations, and set up the house. (She directed JT and I as helpers, but we just did whatever she told us to do!) She planned pizza, salad, fruit, fruit punch, and dessert.Continue reading “Friends Celebration”
Women’s Retreat 2019
Two years ago, Kristin, Cacee, and I (and our friend Cynthia, who has since moved) went to the Christ the Rock Community Church women’s retreat at Alderbrook Resort. It was so fun, and we were excited to go again this year… even though none of us attend church there, it’s a great weekend and aContinue reading “Women’s Retreat 2019”
Two Little Visitors
When my dear friend Kristin left for Hawaii for a week to visit her husband (who is on temporary station there for months), she asked if we could possibly have Sawyer and Jozie stay with us for the week. Of course, we said yes! Sawyer and Jozie play at our house allllll the time, andContinue reading “Two Little Visitors”
Leavenworth Weekend 2019
Our seventh annual roomie reunion in the snow happened in Leavenworth this year. It’s always over MLK Jr weekend – and we had ONE house this year for all 29 people! We split up the meals as usual, and Jim was in charge of the first breakfast. The men took charge this year and gaveContinue reading “Leavenworth Weekend 2019”
Festive Friends 2018
We barely managed to fit in our Festive Friends progressive dinner with the Drews and the Lees before the end of the year! After rescheduling twice, we made it happen. We are so blessed to be surrounded by two great families (we’re the house in between!) and be able to call them our friends.
Party at the Bus Stop
The woman who has driven the school bus for our neighborhood retired today. She has been driving our neighborhood route for about a decade! So we gathered kids from all three bus stops into one place and presented her with a sign, flowers, a card, a gift certificate to a local restaurant, and hugs withContinue reading “Party at the Bus Stop”
