Three days after we got back from Utah, we drove to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho for Haley’s competition called Great West Gym Fest. We were blessed to stay with my cousin, Cora, and her two kids with my aunt and uncle right next door. We enjoyed Tubbs Hill Park and a two-mile walk on Saturday morning.Continue reading “Great West Gym Fest”

Sports Weekend
We spent four straight days out of the house at sporting events. We are tired! Friday last week, we went to Haley’s gymnastics meet in Kent. She did an awesome job and took 5th in her division! Then we spent two days at basketball in Buckley. Jim is the team’s assistant coach now, and heContinue reading “Sports Weekend”
PJ Classic 2019
Haley did an amazing job at her second gymnastics meet, the PJ Classic in Auburn. She improved a ton from her first meet and most importantly had a wonderful time! Her team wore matching pajama pants… so cute! We had a full audience for this meet, which was super fun. She got 4th in herContinue reading “PJ Classic 2019”
Team Sports Fall 2019
Our kids are allowed to pick one sport per season. We all know what Haley’s sport is… for all the seasons. 🙂 She’s a team girl! JT is playing flag football again this fall. He enjoys playing quarterback, wide receiver, and safety.
Team Gymnast
She did it! Haley is now a Team Gymnast. Not that we are surprised by this at all… but it’s very exciting. Three years ago, Haley joined her gym as a level 1 gymnast, one hour, one day a week. She loved it. She decided she wanted to pursue being a Team Girl. When sheContinue reading “Team Gymnast”
Mini Olympics 2019
Haley finished up her third year of gymnastics with the traditional mini-Olympics. We loved watching each of her events and cheering for her, and we especially loved gathering at Menchie’s frozen yogurt afterward!
Mini-Olympics 2018
Each May, Haley’s gym puts on a mini-Olympics for the students in their recreational classes. Since gymnastics is her only sport and there are no games to attend, all family members marked their calendars and showed up to support her! Haley performed a short routine on each apparatus, and then collected her medal and certificateContinue reading “Mini-Olympics 2018”
Back to School
I can’t believe we have a third grader and a first grader. Today is the first day of school! But let me back up. We started back to school with me going back to my high school to lead professional development for the district’s teacher-librarians. It was the first time in 20 years I haveContinue reading “Back to School”
Summer Sports
We’ve never had summer sports in the Keene family, except water skiing. This year is different. Haley was invited to participate in a small group of gymnasts who are working toward level 3. She will be attending class twice a week this summer instead of her usual once per week. (She also got a newContinue reading “Summer Sports”
Haley’s Mini Olympics
Haley had her year-end gymnastics event called the Mini Olympics over the weekend. She got a chance to show her progress on all four apparatuses and go up to the podium to receive a medal and certificate. She had all four grandparents, both parents, and an aunt and uncle in the stands cheering for herContinue reading “Haley’s Mini Olympics”
