There are two exciting things from this week, as you can see from my title. The first is that I’ve felt the baby move twice during the middle of the day. On Thursday there was movement while I was at work, but, more importantly, today the movements turned to definite “popcorn popping” feelings during church. I guess the baby loved the music or our pastor!
I’ve been looking at velour track suits ever since I read that I needed one in Rock Star Mama, the book my mom gave me. Okay, just kidding. I’ve wanted one for years, and now that I see pregnant women all over the place wearing them (looking comfy and cute, by the way), I’ve been looking at them in stores. So far, all the sets I’ve found have been not soft enough, not stretchy enough, the wrong color, the wrong size, you name it… including one set that made my hips look gigantic. Who needs more things to look gigantic? I put it on my birthday list and called it good. But today all of that ended!
Which brings me to exciting thing #2. We were at Eastside Harley after church, and Jim had told me to see if they have any maternity clothes. This really is a joke, because a lot of Harley’s women’s clothing is snug and cropped. I wandered over to the clothing department anyway, because the parts counter isn’t that much fun. Low and behold, a black velour track suit with satin trim… with embroidered Harley logos… in my size!! Jim told me to try it on and, oh my goodness, not only did it fit, the waist band was nice and stretchy, the velour was soft and cozy, the pants were long enough, the sleeves were long enough, and the whole thing looked great. (No gigantic hips here!) I showed Jim and he said, “Looks nice.” 🙂
Needless to say, I was putting it back on the rack to leave it for my birthday list when my generous husband suggested I buy it now and wear it today instead. I should mention that he had already promised to take me out for Chinese only because it sounded good, so I was feeling a little guilty. But he insisted, and now here I sit, typing this blog, wearing the most comfortable outfit since my sundress in Hawaii, and it’s not even my birthday. Ah….
Just because I wrote three paragraphs about my new outfit and only a few sentences about the baby doesn’t mean anything.
This week we also got the results of our Spina Bifada blood test. Peggy left a message on my cell phone saying, “The results are one in… well, they’re very low.” Tomorrow I will start refinishing the rocking chair my mom gave me that she used to rock me in. It seems as though it will be quite the project, but the nice lady at the hardware store gave me lots of tips.
Before your rocking chair project is over am I sure you are going to wish the nice hardware store lady came home with you to help. Have fun! With your HD comfy clothes maybe you should have your own chapter in Rock Star Mamma.

Congrats on the baby. I didn\’t even know that you were pregnant until a recent visit with Grandma! Are you going to share the name with us when we know the sex?
