Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday, Slider! Slider turned five years old today. Middle age is treating her pretty well. She got a new Nylabone for her birthday (okay, not really… we buy them every couple of months anyway). We don’t make a big deal out of her birthday, but it is kind of a milestone this year.

I took a couple of pictures of her to mark this special occasion. In a few years she’ll start getting gray in her fur, so we have to capture her in her prime now!

I am also posting a couple from when she was a puppy. Wasn’t she cute? 🙂

From tim to time, people ask us how many words Slider knows. I usually answer, “Oh, about fifty.” But I’d never really counted. So this morning, while JT was finishing breakfast, I started a list. I only wrote down words or phrases that she responds to. I’m sure there are more that she knows, she just doesn’t need to do anything. (Slider has a pretty good filter about zoning out when you’re not talking to her… except on the word “walk.” She perks up anytime you say that word!) So here is the list:

On a side note, JT is twenty months old today. And in exactly six months (if he cooperates), we will have another baby!
