For Shira

I do this workout once or twice a week and it is really hard. It’s a combination of P90X and Insanity and Biggest Loser and anything else that Shira Jones comes up with. I have been going since JT was four months old, and I can honestly say that I am stronger than I’ve been since high school. I feel good and I can’t believe what we do every week. When I count the total number of lunges, pushups, mountain climbers, whatever, I about die.

Recently, Shira came up with this little saying. It’s pretty much a major motivation to keep working out, doing my best, and staying healthy so I can do fun things for a long time to come. I’d love to take a picture of the group at workout (Jim comes too, when he’s not at work) but I don’t think they’d appreciate a sweaty picture posted for the world to see. We all show up a little scrubby, let the kids run wild, and get ready to work. This group of women have also become some of my dearest friends, and my children’s best friends.

So thank you, Shira, for your commitment to your own fitness and for including the rest of us. Here’s to many more workouts to come!

  1. Becky, I am going to print your post out and put it in my scrapbook! Thank you so much for your dedication, willing to try a circuit compromised of lifting chairs over your head while climbing another chair, saying \”I can\” when I ask for a 900 circuit set of Mt. Climbers, and for your constant encouragement. I love my workout class buddies!
