Twelve hours after I arrived home from New Zealand, we left for Banks Lake trip 1. Jim had been very busy packing… and the kids too! And I packed my clothes before I left, because I didn’t need summer camping clothes on my trip, and we grabbed groceries on the way. Preston rode over with us, so it was fun for JT to have a backseat buddy.
We were so excited to use our camper for the first time at Steamboat Rock State Park! The kids still slept in their own tent (which I never went in, not once!). We set up our site, and our grill, and hosted dinner for all 10 people that same night. I joked that I’d been in the country for less than 24 hours and it felt a little surreal to then suddenly be off the grid, camping and grilling!
We started the week with the annual t-shirt reveal. Jeff plans the shirt every year with a new theme, and it’s always a big surprise!
Then we spent the rest of the week swimming, skiing, tubing, eating, napping, reading, hiking, and playing!
